Meet Robert A. Weinstein, DDS, MS

After graduating from Northwestern University Dental School in 1968, Dr. Weinstein went on to four more years of additional specialty training at Loyola University and Affiliated Hospitals in Chicago, where he received his Master's Degree in 1973, as well as qualification for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has practiced over 30 years in the specialty of Oral, Maxillofacial and Surgery, having gained extensive expertise in dental alveolar surgery, particularly in wisdom teeth removal, dental implants, general anesthesia, IV sedation, TMJ, facial trauma, reconstructive and cosmetic jaw surgery. Also, Dr. Weinstein has received extensive education and training in minimally invasive facial cosmetic surgery.

He has lectured extensively on surgical procedures, case management and dental implantology in various regions of the United States, as well as internationally. He is a published author in professional journals and has held licenses to practice in Illinois, Colorado, Texas, Guam, the Common Wealth of Northern Mariana Islands and Jamaica.

Known for being great with people, Dr. Weinstein is able to speak at least a few phrases in 20 languages. He is happily married with six children, and when he's not practicing dentistry, he enjoys scuba diving, sailing and golf.

Meet Our Team

Dr. Weinstein has a highly trained and qualified staff, ready to make your experience in our Dallas or Valley Ranch offices pleasant and comfortable. The surgical assistants, aestheticians and professional office team are committed to providing the best care possible for our patients. Our team is handpicked and made up of a group of people who have chosen this specialized area of patient care because they love it. Going to work each day is fun, not a chore, when you love what you do. Each member of our clinical staff has been trained in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, infection control and sterilization technique, as well as dental radiography. All clinical team members hold the proper certifications from the State of Texas.

In an effort to provide the best accommodations possible, our team speaks English, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Russian and Farsi.

Dena Rathbun, RDA, Office Coordinator Dena is the office coordinator, responsible for the organization and efficiency of office operations. She has over 18 years of experience in medical office operations. Dena has completed all state-required certifications and registrations and is also an ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Provider. Dena is thankful for the opportunity to help our patients overcome obstacles, such as fear, finances, or simply needing extra personal attention in order to achieve their goals. The creative freedom and variety of roles she serves in our office bring a rewarding challenge to each new day. In her spare time, Dena enjoys creative writing, reading, and arts-and-crafts projects with her family.

Soonja Weinstein, Public Relations Coordinator Soonja holds a very special position in the office, maintaining relationships with the community and specializing in personal patient care with the large population of Korean patients that we treat. Soonja is multilingual, speaking English, Korean, Japanese, and Hebrew. Soonja is very active in the community and spends her free time volunteering with local organizations. Soonja has over 20 years of experience in customer service and personnel management.

Irina Plask, Account Specialist With nine years of experience in business administration, Irina brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She enjoys explaining insurance benefits to our patients, and helping them maximize their coverage. Working with Dr. Weinstein and our team has proven rewarding on many levels, and she’s thankful to work for an office that takes such good care of its patients. Outside of the office, Irina enjoys time with her husband, Gary, and their Maltipoo, Lucy.

Heather Kim, Patient Coordinator Heather has proven a wonderful asset to our team since joining in 2008. She has a bachelor's degree in finance, which comes in extremely handy while assisting our patients with their financial concerns. Some patients who visit us for the first time are nervous, so Heather does everything in her power to make them feel welcome and comfortable. She's proud to be part of a compassionate and friendly team that strives to put a smile on every patient's face. Outside of the office, Heather and her family enjoy traveling and savoring a well-prepared meal.

Karen Sanchez, Front Desk Coordinator Karen has an associate’s degree in marketing and nearly 20 years of experience in the field. She’s been working with Dr. Weinstein since 2008, ensuring our patients feel comfortable, as well as facilitating convenient scheduling and answering any questions you may have. Her desire to help people translates to her position, and she’s thankful to be part of a practice that makes a difference in the way people feel about themselves. In her free time, Karen and her husband enjoy movies, music, traveling, and spending time with their pride and joy, a Westie named Sprecher.

Brandy Lee, Certified Surgical Technologist Brandy attended Iverson Business School before beginning her carreer as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST). An integral part of the team, Brandy works with Dr. Weinstein to ensure our patients receive the best possible surgical care. She's also a licensed phlebotomist and loves the diversity and daily challenge her job affords. Dr. Weinstein's sense of humor and our exceptional patients put a smile on Brandy's face each new day. Brandy spends free time with family or scouring the malls for bargains on designer goods.

Robin Whitsell, Registered Dental Assistant Robin graduated from Collin County Community College, and she has seven years of experience in the field. She assists Dr. Weinstein chairside, ensuring the comfort of our patients and answering any questions they have. Dedicated to her work, Robin loves creating an atmosphere of caring and understanding by helping our patients understand their treatments. Dr. Weinstein and our wonderful team makes coming to work each day a pleasure for Robin. Away from Cosmetic Youth, Robin enjoys physical fitness and spending time with family.
