Anesthesia

You have multiple options for having your procedure performed painlessly. Local anesthesia is used as an effective way to eliminate pain during a procedure. Some patients like to have nitrous oxide sedation along with local anesthesia. For lengthy procedures and apprehensive patients, we usually recommend general anesthesia, which puts you to sleep. If you have certain health concerns or medical conditions, Dr. Weinstein may discuss alternative anesthetic techniques.

• Intravenous Sedation/General Anesthesia - For many patients, general anesthesia is offered to make their surgery more comfortable, relaxed and stress-free. With general anesthesia, you can sleep during the procedure, which prevents you from dealing with apprehension and stress. If you choose general anesthesia, please do not eat or drink anything, including water, for six hours before your appointment. Have a responsible adult present at the time of your surgery who can take you home, get your prescriptions filled and assist you after surgery.
