State of the Economy and a Desire to Help Prompts Surgeon to Take Drastic Measures to Reduce Patients’ Costs.

With rising cost of living, uncertain job market and families strapped for cash, patients are foregoing necessary dental surgery, placing themselves and family members at risk for serious complications from infection.  A local doctor with a desire to ease the burden on families has taken a huge bite out of the expense of necessary treatments such as wisdom teeth removal and dental implants.

Dallas, TX March 31, 2010 —  As families struggle with the higher cost of living, uncertain job market and struggling economy, many are foregoing much needed dental surgery in favor of waiting for the economic recovery to be felt.  The problem many patients face when postponing needed care is that the dental problem often escalates, adding expense, lost time from work and sometimes hospitalization.  Dr. Robert A. Weinstein has devised a method for providing relief for families having to choose whether or not to proceed with procedures such as wisdom teeth removal or dental implants.

Dr. Weinstein provides surgical removal of all four wisdom teeth with IV general anesthesia in his office for less than half of the traditional cost of this surgery.  Patients utilizing insurance benefits pay even less out of pocket.  For example:  a patient with no insurance can receive consultation, x-rays, all four wisdom teeth removed and IV general anesthesia for under $1100.00.  Normal fees for this surgery range from $1600 to $2500 per patient. A patient using insurance may pay only $200-$800 out of pocket for the same surgery.  This provides huge relief for patients who would otherwise be unable to afford this type of surgery.

“I see more patients now with advanced infections, which can become dangerous, than I have seen in many years.  Patients are postponing needed treatment until the pain or infection becomes unbearable,” says Dr. Weinstein.  “I want to do my part to make this type of care more accessible for people who are struggling in this tough economy”.

Patients should not sacrifice safety, quality of care and compassionate treatment for price.  “My standards for patient care are very high.  I believe in taking care of people as a whole; not just taking care of an infection or a toothache.  The price may be lower right now, but the standard of care is as high or even higher than ever”.
