Dental Insurance – Dallas, TX
Helping You Make the Most of Your Benefits
Paying for your dental care can be the most nerve-wracking part of any appointment, but a good dental insurance plan can make the process much easier. That said, some patients aren’t sure how to get the most out of their insurance benefits, which is where our team at Texas Wisdom Teeth comes in. Not only do we file your claims for you, but we always take the time to explain your benefits and help you find the best ways to save on your treatment.
Understanding How Dental Insurance Works
You might assume that dental insurance is just like health insurance, but there’s one important difference: dental insurance is mostly focused on stopping health issues from occurring as opposed to treating them after the damage has already been done. Checkups, cleanings, and other preventive services tend to receive the most coverage. That does not mean, however, that oral surgery isn’t covered at all, and we’ll make sure that you always receive the full benefits that you are entitled to.
What Your Dental Insurance
Most plans follow a 100-80-50 structure where preventive services are completely covered, fillings and other minor restorative services are 80 percent covered, and dental crowns and other major restorative services are 50 percent covered. Wisdom tooth extraction often falls under the “major services” category. Dental implants are sometimes not covered by dental insurance, but you might receive benefits for other aspects of the process. If you call us, we can go over the specifics of your policy.
